Gisele Dierks

Hi there!

My name is Gisele, or Gigi. I am a Bennington College graduate with a passion for sustainability and integrity.

I am trying to create a life for myself where I can be an artist, a musician, a pilot, a community leader, a guardian to animals and friends, a traveller and a home-maker, a host, and a healer. There are definitely a lot more things to add to that list, but the general gist is that I'm feeling resistant to a world that puts limits on multidimensionality of being and tells us there is a scarcity and that we don't have enough to be our full selves.

I grew up at a renowned hang gliding and paragliding school in the U.S, which was founded in 1974 and run by my dad until his passing in 2010. Down the street, my mom (an antique dealer and designer) lived in a converted mill over a river. This mile-long strip of New Hampshire forest and fields was a spacious place to exist, and these two inspiring people were/are committed to archiving and sharing (in their own distinct ways) a lifestyle that, in an ever-increasing digital world, seems increasingly hard to come by.

Studying the long-term inefficiency of our current convenience-focused culture, I work to embody and uplift sustainable and regenerative cycles socially and environmentally. Currently, I’m sharing this through my art and soon I hope to be able to share it through a space-based experience.

Growing up in the antiques and free-flight world, spending four years at Bennington, I have connected deeply with thousands of inspiring people, and packed a lot of experience into my time. I am passionate about sharing my excitement for reading, writing, hang gliding and paragliding, connecting with plants and animals, visual and performance art, and being outdoors. I dedicate a lot of my energy to connecting people and considering balance and positivity in the world.

I believe in flight as a doorway to healing our selves, and healing ourselves as the first step towards healing our worlds. I am passionate about the huge potential to heal environmental and social crises/issues as they are in the US today. I am trying to create space-based and book-based resources with which to heal my community and the land I grew up on.

Defining oneself to an unknown audience is a complex undertaking… I’m probably forgetting something important... or saying something without mindfulness, just please bare with me and let’s remember nuance abounds!
