PROCESS OVER PRODUCT -April 17, 2023
I have always been an artist, but I only recently embraced this identity. I have rarely if ever been able to tangibly bring to life the vivid creations of my mind’s eye. For so many years, I thought this process of creating a work that looks exactly the way the artist envisioned was what it meant to be a good artist. Then I realized that art is just another part of life, and there are plenty of people who are very successfully alive but whose lives do not look the way they envisioned. In fact, there is a level of playfulness and excitement to not being able to control what your life or your art will come out like. SO, this project attempts to archive my process, considering my relationship with control and play, and how that relates to our world. It will have infinite flaws, but the idea is that the flaws are sort of a mathematical function of perfection. Enjoy!
